Xavian Walters (aka VY) is a Tampa-based artist whose vibrant, mixed-media practice has been making waves in Florida’s art scene. He works across painting, custom clothing design, tattoo art and even public murals, blurring the lines between canvas, wearables and street art. VY’s creations often layer bold graphics, color and texture in unexpected ways, inviting viewers on an immersive visual journey. As he puts it, this process is “a perpetual ride, an odyssey with no fixed destination” – a sentiment that reflects his boundless creative spirit.

The title Departure evokes the bittersweet thrill of leaving the familiar behind and embarking on something new. The theme suggests both courage and renewal. In this exhibition, Walters channels that energy into each piece. Expect vibrant color, layered media and unexpected details that stir both introspection and excitement.
